There are a number of ways to reach out to the public to inform them about sleep. Volunteer to give talks or workshops on sleep in the community or at your workplace. If a reporter asks you for a quote or an interview, try to make time to speak with them.
The public often gets its information about sleep from dubious sources, largely because those of us in the field have not been as good about passing on what we know.
