| Political Action and Advocacy
One of the goals of the Society is to advocate for the sleep field at the state level. This could mean pushing for legislation that improves sleep and the treatment of sleep disorders, and fighting legislation that hinders it. It also means making policymakers and the public aware of the importance of sleep for health in general, and the importance of sleep disorders specifically.
To do this, we rely on a committee and our members to reach out where we can. You can help in a number of ways:
1. Talk to your representatives about sleep and sleep medicine.
2. Reach out to other professional organizations.
3. Communicate with the public.
